TW Newsdesk, March 15: The judicial custody of former state minister Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee, who are in judicial custody for alleged money laundering in relation to illegal recruitments in schools, was extended till April 19.
The two, who were detained eight months ago, were produced in a special CBI court virtually. Chatterjee is lodged at Presidency jail and Mukherjee at the Alipore Correctional Home for women. Both sought bails citing their health. Chatterjee, apart from citing his ailments, submitted that the infrastructure in the jail was inadequate to accommodate 2,500 inmates.
