TW Newsdesk, January 25: Intense winter winds caused a cargo ship to sink off the southwest coast of Japan. Thirteen crew members were rescued from the ship, and the remaining nine are still being sought after by private vessels, planes, and ships.
The 6,651-ton Hong Kong-registered “Jintian” vessel called for help, according to the Japan Coast Guard.
Later reports stated that the 22 crew members, who are all citizens of China or Myanmar, had boarded lifeboats after a person on board reported that the ship was listing and taking on water.
