TW Newsdesk, January 25: Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the governor of Maharashtra, argued that it would be dangerous to lose touch with our native tongue and urged parents to enroll their kids in vernacular-medium schools.

“To lose our native speech would be devastating. The governor made the comment while watching a play in Mumbai that traced the history of the Marathi language over 2,000 years. “Children in the early years should undertake their schooling in regional languages,” he added.
