TW Newsdesk, Feb 3: The teaching and non-teaching employees of all seven private and government-funded colleges affiliated with Panjab University (PU) in Chandigarh extended their walkout for a second day on Thursday, demanding inclusion of their services underneath the Central Services Rules. At Sector 36’s MCM-DAV College, they were seated on a dharna.

A demonstration will be held at SGGSC, Sector 26, according to Joint Action Committee office-holder Sumit Goklaney tomorrow. There, we have invited numerous PU senators and members of the syndicate to join our ongoing strike.

Up until February 8, the strike will be in effect. The seven privately managed and government-supported colleges employ 400 non-teaching staff members and about 730 teaching personnel.
